At our monthly meeting on January 19, 2010, NRCS District Conservationist Tony Arnhold (left) presented UHCD Conservation Technician Donald Sanchez (right), with an award for assisting with the Farm Bill contract financial review audit in 2009.  The award was endorsed by NRCS Chief Arlen Lancaster and NRCS State Conservationist Allen Green. 

At the UHCD Annual Meeting on November 20, 2010, Bill and Marge Riggins were honored with the Huerfano County Conservation Rancher of the Year Award.  Since 1949, the Riggins Ranch has had a conservation plan and in 1964, Bill became a cooperator with the UHCD.  

 

In September 2011, the nomination will be forwarded to the statewide competition for Conservation Rancher of the Year.

The Board of Supervisors present Bill and Marge Riggins with the Huerfano County Conservation Rancher of the Year Award.
